چکیده
Open-cage derivative C(60)(O)(4)(OH)(2)(NC(6)H(4)(t)Bu)(2) reacts with ICl to form a Baeyer-Villiger type product, which yields an intense green product upon treatment with HI.

Large odd-numbered carbon clusters from fullerene-ozone reactions.
The odd-numbered carbon clusters C(119), C(129), and C(139) have been observed in the mass spectra of toluene extracts of fullerene soots and of the products of ozone-fullerene reactions. Specifically, ozone-C(60) reactions yield C(119), ozone-C(70) reactions yield C(139), and ozone-(C(60)/C(70)) reactions produce C(119), C(129), and C(139). These unexpected species correspond to dimers of C(60...
متن کاملLaser Induced C60 Cage Opening Studied by Semiclassical Dynamics Simulation
Laser induced opening of the C(60) cage is studied by a semiclassical electron-radiation-ion dynamics technique. The simulation results indicate that the C(60) cage is abruptly opened immediately after laser excitation. The opening of the C(60) cage induces a quick increase in kinetic energy and a sharp decrease in electronic energy, suggesting that the breaking of the C(60) cage efficiently he...
متن کاملTheoretical investigation about the adsorption of the Sarin nerve agent on C20 fullerene and its boron-doped derivative
Sarin is a very toxic organophosphorus chemical warfare agent which has been used in different wars. According to an immediate demand of detection, secure approachs to break down this toxic nerve agent, the study on decomposition of sarin achieve significance. In this work, we have made endeavors of discovering an approach to neutralize this hazardous kind by adsorption of this molecule by C20 ...
متن کاملCarving two adjacent holes on [60]fullerene through two consecutive epoxide to diol to dione transformations.
Repeated acid catalyzed epoxide opening and oxidation of the resulting diol with diacetoxyiodobenzene led to two 10-membered orifices on C(60) cage.
متن کاملSurgery of fullerenes.
Recent attempts at the synthesis of endohedral fullerenes by organic reactions, so-called "molecular surgery" methods, are surveyed. The creation of an opening on the surface of fullerene cages allowed insertion of He, H(2), H(2)O, or CO within the cages. An effective route to "suture" an opening was established to realize a new endohedral fullerene, H(2)@C(60). Further development of this oper...
